The Stillbirth and neonatal death charity (Sands) is currently designing a one-day bereavement care workshop for spoken language and sign language interpreters, to be launched in 2018. The course will aim to enable interpreters to develop the knowledge and skills to facilitate effective and sensitive communication between health practitioners and non-English speaking and deaf parents who experience the death of a baby, before, during or shortly after birth.

If you are an interpreter or health practitioner who has worked with non-English speaking or deaf bereaved parents and are willing to share your experiences and suggestions please complete this survey.  Thank you for your time.

Please note that while we will endeavor to include as many contributions as possible, we cannot promise to include every submission. No names will be attributed to the quotes used on the course.  Submissions are made on the understanding that you give Sands your permission to use your wording or a section of your wording within the training course. Unfortunately, we cannot enter into correspondence regarding submissions.
