Seven Viking is the fifth ship by Eidesvik to be converted into a hybrid, and the offshore vessel owner expects to save 750,000 litres of diesel per year. Maersk Supply Service – Energy EfficiencyDenmark’s Maersk Supply Service wants to drive efficiency and reduce its environmental footprint in all parts of its operation. In order to achieve this, it has created a corporate culture of energy efficiency amongst its operators, crew and shoreside staff to maximise fuel savings and drive environmental benefits from its vessel retrofits and digitalisation efforts. The Switch - EBLA battery hybrid upgrade of the construction vessel North Sea Giant (North Sea Shipping) using a high-speed electronic bus link technology allows the vessel to operate in DP-3 mode and run a reduced number of generator sets, saving running hours, reducing maintenance. This also results in saving a significant amount of fuel due to more efficient power system and reduces emissions, while creating an even more reliable and safer system performance. Yxney Maritime – MARESSYxney Maritime developed a cloud-based energy efficiency visualization software MARESS (Maritime Efficiency Supervisory Software) that could be swiftly implemented across Solstad Offshore’s fleet with no hardware installation or capex. By using the Yxney software to underpin its own efficiency efforts, Solstad Offshore has reduced the total footprint from its operations by more than 39,500 tonnes of CO2 (2018 and 2019), while shaving its fleet’s fuel consumption by 18%.
