Vote now and have your say

This year we have been working with our key volunteers and members on a wide range of topics, we have worked together on initiatives to develop our sport and to improve the quality experience for our members. One of the themes we have received feedback on, is the concept of moving towards a one member one vote system, which will allow members to have a direct say in what we do.

The Board believes it will strengthen our governance if every member could place their own vote on issues at the AGM. Currently, electors (who are often club secretaries) can place as many votes as they have club members, without an obligation to consult. Although many do, we felt that a more modern and more democratic solution would be to put the vote in the hands of the members, and let them appoint a proxy of their choice if they wish, rather than the other way around.

We would like to ask all members to advise us of their views directly. This will allow us to understand whether members would like us to consider an approach towards a system of one member one vote.

Thank you.
