Introduction

Thank you for taking part in our survey. To make sure this works well, please read the following guidance carefully. This work is high priority and the commissioners are requiring that this survey is completed by 12:00 midday on Tuesday 3 May 2016.

This survey is about training that you have received or delivered in relation to your work with children and young people, parents, carers and families and their well-being. It should be filled out by any members of staff, particularly those who provide training.

Purpose of the survey

The Anna Freud Centre has recently been commissioned by the North West London Clinical and Commissioning Group (CCG) Collaborative to carry out a needs assessment and service mapping in relation to children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing. This will inform a CAMHS redesign in Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Tri-Borough (Westminster, Hammersmith & Fulham, and Kensington & Chelsea). It is vital that any service changes are made based on a comprehensive knowledge of what is being done now. Without this, future planning may be poorly informed, ineffective and unhelpful. This is why your help with this survey is so crucial.

In order to understand the landscape of services currently available to children and young people in your borough, we are collecting a range of information from all local organisations which work with children and young people, parents, carers and families.

This specific survey is about training of staff who work to address the mental health and well-being needs of children and young people, parents, carers and families. We are asking you to provide us with information on training that you have delivered or received in the context of your work with children and young people, parents, carers and families. By completing this survey, you will help us to develop a set of priorities in respect of children’s mental health in your borough.

Completing the survey

Anyone who works at an organisation which delivers services to children, young people, parents, carers and families (e.g. CAMHS service, school, GP surgery, voluntary sector, etc.) is invited to fill out this survey. We will be asking you questions about training you have recently delivered or received, among other questions about your role.

Please complete the survey as accurately and fully as possible, referring to your personal records or asking colleagues for further information if necessary. If you do not know how to answer a question, please use the ‘Not applicable’ or ‘I don't have any information’ options provided. Many questions are not mandatory but try to avoid leaving any questions blank. Please make sure to complete the whole survey and select ‘Send’ when you reach the end.

Please allow 10 to 15 minutes to complete the survey. If necessary, you will be able to return to the survey at a later time without losing your previous answers, as long as you are using the same computer or device, but be mindful that the survey will only be running for a couple of weeks, so remember to complete it before the deadline.
Benefits of taking part

Taking part will contribute to the improvement of training to promote children and young people’s mental health and well-being in your local area. This is an opportunity for you to raise views about services within your borough to your local CCG.
