Community Survey for Graffoe Parish

We need your help to find out what potential there is within our local community to continue providing the facilities you want and need within the beautiful and cared for church buildings we have in the Graffoe parish.

During the last year the church leaders in Lincolnshire have published a document regarding the financial situation across the county. Cuts of £4 million and a reduction of clergy from 130 to 100 means a new approach will be needed to manage our historic churches and the facilities we offer.

So how does this affect you and your family? Did you know that English churches do not receive any central funding or grants and rely on the generosity of their local community for their upkeep? It is a constant challenge and will be more so in the future, with reduced money to support the churches as well as fewer clergy to serve the villagers.

We recognise that there must be changes but what these look like in detail is for us to propose. The more we can put our own clear ideas to the church leaders at a county level the more likely we will be to succeed.
