Judging the ESU-Churchill Public Speaking Competition

The ESU's Public Speaking Competition for Key Stage 3 & 4 students (Years 9 - 11) is the largest in England and Wales. It challenges students to engage with wide-ranging cross-curricular topics, whilst helping to meet National Curriculum speaking and listening targets.

This training is designed as a supportive tool for both newcomers to judging and as a refresher for veteran judges. In this training you will find some notes on the format of the competition, the marking criteria and advice on giving feedback.

Once you have completed this training, a member of ESU staff will be in contact with you as soon as workflow allows to discuss your results and go through the next steps.
