Judging the ESU Performing Shakespeare Competition

The ESU Performing Shakespeare Competition allows Key Stage 3 in England and Wales, between the ages of 11 and 14, to demonstrate and develop their creativity, their confidence and their ability to express themselves.

This training is designed as a supportive tool for both new judges and as a refresher for veteran judges. In this training, you will find some notes on the format of the competition, the marking criteria, and advice on giving feedback.
This is an abridged version of the Judge Handbook, however you will need to read the full document in order to complete the training. This can be found here.  The School Handbook can also be usefully accessed here.
Once you have completed this training, a member of ESU staff will be in contact with you to discuss your results and to inform you of upcoming heats you can judge.
