Naming NCN6

Help us find a suitably inspiring name for our local section of National Cycleway Network (NCN) Route 6. This route is mostly off road and runs  from Accrington in the north to the Lancashire border at Stubbins near Ramsbottom in the south. It is 12km long and follows a former railway line, although large sections no longer exist such as around Haslingden. It has great potential for commuter use and will contribute towards the tourist economy by linking to the East Lancashire Railway and Irwell Sculpture Trail to the south. We want to find a fitting name for this Greenway that will offer a beautiful and inspiring landscape to walk and ride through.

* 1. What is your suggestion for a name for the Accrington to Ramsbottom route?

* 2. Leave us your contact details so we can update you on the naming campaign.

* 3. Would you like to be added to our free ebulletin mailing list so that we can keep you informed about activities on the Greenway?

* 4. Do you think you will use the Greenway when it is completed?

We are collecting suggestions through this survey; social media; press coverage and community workshop sessions.  From all the suggestions a shortlist will be put together and then there will be a public vote.  Lancashire County Council will announce the new name once it is chosen.

Thank you for taking part
