Providing greater help for places of worship in Northern Ireland

This survey is for people who look after a place of worship to help faith and heritage organisations working in Northern Ireland to develop and provide greater support for volunteers and staff at places of worship throughout Northern Ireland.  To design and deliver effective help we need to gather evidence that help is needed and learn what would help you. We need to hear your opinions and understand your current and upcoming challenges.  If you have any questions about this survey please contact Alison Pollard at alison.pollard@nationalchurchestrust.org or at the office number given below.

The survey should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. Please note that it is not possible to preview the questions. Please answer as best you can as you go along. None of the questions are mandatory. Thank you for taking part!

In March 2018 a group of organisations is working to set up a Places of Worship Forum for Northern Ireland. This Forum will comprise organisations concerned with faith across all traditions and faith heritage. The initial steering group comprises people representing the Department for Communities, faith and heritage bodies including the Ulster Historic Churches Trust and National Churches Trust, the Ulster Architectural Heritage Society, other heritage professionals and church volunteers. It aims to identify the most effective ways to help volunteers and staff at places of worship to more easily manage their buildings, raise funding and engage the wider public.

The National Churches Trust is organising this survey to support the foundation of a new Places of Worship Forum for Northern Ireland. The Trust supports and promotes church buildings of historic, architectural and community value through fundraising, advice and grant-giving. We are the independent, UK-wide charity supporting over 42,000 churches, chapels and meeting houses of all Christian traditions. We believe that places of worship are an integral part of our nation’s architectural heritage and play a vital part in building and sustaining local communities.
