The Quality Assurance Agency's Subject Benchmark Statements describe the nature of study and the academic standards expected of graduates in specific subject areas in Higher and Further Education.

The Statement for Environmental Sciences, Environmental Studies and Earth Sciences is currently being reviewed.

CHES is seeking the expertise of our IES members to understand what your expectations of graduates are in terms of their academic and professional skills and knowledge.

By understanding the expectations of graduates held across the professional sector, we can ensure the future standards appropriately equip graduates with the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviour to further the environmental science profession.

This survey should take ~7 minutes to complete and will ask for brief details about your organisation, your opinion on existing graduate skills and any additional thoughts to have your say in shaping future standards.

Data from this survey will be used to inform our input to the Environmental Sciences, Environmental Studies and Earth Sciences Benchmark review and for other work we do around graduate skills. Responses to this survey will only be seen by IES staff and members of the CHES Executive, and will only be reported externally in aggregated form. Responses are anonymous; you will not be asked to provide any identifying data. Some questions ask for data that may identify your organisation, but these are optional and you can skip these if you do not feel comfortable providing this information. These questions are only for us to improve our data by checking we don't have multiple responses from the same organisation.
