Calder Valley Rising : help the Canal & River Trust undertake valley-wide restoration. |
Your views will help us write a bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Pennine Prospects have been commissioned to support the Canal & River Trust in putting together a funding application to the Heritage Lottery Fund for a new project. It is called Calder Valley Rising and will aim to carry out projects and activities across the Valley working in partnership with local communities, volunteers, local authorities and the Environment Agency. Your views and ideas will shape this funding application. The following survey will take just a few minutes to complete.
Heritage Lottery Funding under this programme has, in the past, funded landscape or ecological restoration alongside initiatives to improve access, to engage/ inspire communities and offer training/ learning opportunities. It would run for 5 years and would compliment rather than replicate other initiatives such as the Calder Valley Flood Action Plan through support to communities and voluntary organisations. The area covered broadly follows the Calder Valley and its associated waterways from Todmorden as far as Dewsbury
This bid is competitive nationally. To be successful the Canal & Rivers Trust will work with partners and communities from Todmorden to Dewsbury to harness the enthusiasm and knowledge people have for our built and natural environment. Initially focused on our waterways we want to look at restoration of both built and natural heritage valley-wide.
By completing this short questionnaire, you will help us reflect the views and aspirations of people who live and work in the Calder Valley and make it more likely that we will successfully secure funding to improve our shared environment. Without your support our bid is unlikely to be successful. Please leave your name and contact details if you would like to be kept in touch with progress and receive information about how you can get involved.
