Charnwood Borough Council and the Charnwood Community Safety Partnership are committed to making the town centre a safe place to live, visit and work; community consultation is key to shaping our service delivery.

A Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) is in place in Loughborough town centre giving the police the power to ask you to stop drinking alcohol. The PSPO is enforced if a police officer believes you are:
  • Creating disorder or behaving in an anti-social manner
  • You are likely to behave in an anti-social or disorderly way
This order covers Loughborough town centre from the council offices on Southfield Road, to Station Road near Loughborough Hospital.

PSPOs must be reviewed every three years. The existing order will run until October 2020 so we are keen to hear views from the people of Loughborough on whether the order should be extended for another three years.

Your answers will help to shape our proposals for the order after October 2020.
