Housing Needs Survey - Proposed Affordable Housing Development for Leigh

In July 2014 in conjunction with the Parish Council and Mole Valley District Council we conducted a Housing Needs Survey in the parishes of Leigh, Betchworth, Buckland and Brockham.  This survey identified that there was a level of need for additional affordable housing in all of the villages.

Following the results for the Parish of Leigh, the Parish Council in Leigh and I have been working towards the development of a small scheme for local people. We are now in a position where proposals for the development of a rural exception site in the village is being drawn up.

One of the key planning policies for the development of a rural exception site is that the homes must be affordable and available in perpetuity for people with a local connection. In the event that not all of the homes are needed by residents in Leigh a cascade system would be put in place enabling residents in the nearest villages to become eligible.

With this in mind we are updating the results of the 2014 survey.
