ABOUT THIS SURVEY

Women's health is a vital issue for equality, and the menopause is an aspect of this which has long been ignored in policy. Engender is working to gather information about people's experiences of the menopause - your stories, comments, and suggestions will help us shape better policies around the menopause. There's no need to answer everything in this survey, and any answers you give will be kept anonymous.

Thank you

CONSENT FORM

You are invited to participate in this research study conducted by Elena Rodríguez Sánchez, as part of her dissertation project to obtain the degree of MSc Global Health Policy of the University of Edinburgh in collaboration with Engender.

The purpose of the study is to identify the support needs of women living in Scotland going through the menopause that can guide future recommendations to improve existing support services and policies or create new ones.

To participate in this survey, we require that you are an individual in Scotland who is experiencing the menopause transition (either due to a natural process or because of other factors such as surgery or medical treatments) or who has gone through the menopause and would like to share with us your experience and opinions about perimenopause, menopause or post-menopause.

Your participation in this survey is voluntary. You have the right not to answer any question, and to stop the survey at any time. We expect that the survey will take approximately 20 minutes.

All your answers will be entirely confidential, and you will remain completely anonymous. The answers will be used to develop the dissertation project and guide future recommendations for policies related to menopause in Scotland. The answers will be accessible only to the leading researcher.

You will not be compensated for this survey.

The data collection for this study will be completed by 5 July 2019. All survey records will be stored in a secure workspace until August 2019.

Please ask questions about anything you do not understand, before deciding whether to participate. You can contact the main researcher with any questions or concerns at: elena.rodriguez@engender.org.uk
