* 3. Affordable housing is to be provided 'on site' unless there are exceptions to this.  The alternative to on-site provision includes the following options:

1 Provision of affordable units on an alternative site

2 Purchase of land for a Registered Provider or the Council within the same   settlement

3 Purchase of existing housing units within the Borough

4 Purchase of land for a Registered Provider or the Council elsewhere in the Borough

5 Financial Contribution for Affordable Housing

* 4. Rural exception sites are small sites used for affordable housing in perpetuity where sites would not normally be used for housing. 

These are developed to meet the housing needs of the local community.

A proportion of market homes may be allowed on the site to enable the delivery of affordable units without grant funding.
