March Railway Station Masterplan introduction
The Fenland Rail Development Strategy 2011 – 2031 was adopted by Fenland District Council in April 2012.
Following significant public feedback, the strategy aims to address improvements to the local railway requested by residents and stakeholders. The strategy has 3 priorities:
· More Community Involvement
· Better Stations
· Railway Services Improvements
In 2016, a station masterplan was developed setting out a programme of improvements for the station. With significant local input this plan was finalised and work commenced to secure funding and complete the necessary technical work to facilitate the construction of the improvements. Local input was also sought relating to draft schemes.
This phase of significant upgrades at March Station were completed in Spring 2022.

Following consultation for a year afterwards, it is now important for us to seek views about ongoing requirements and future aspirations for the station.
This will enable us to plan and look to work with partners to deliver additional improvements in future.
Your views and opinions are essential to our work and our ability to deliver more in the future.
