Thank you for responding to this survey. Your time and contribution are greatly appreciated.
The survey is designed, undertaken and analysed by the housing and care charity EAC (Elderly Accommodation Counsel) and forms part of a series of ongoing public surveys intended to help us respond more effectively to the later life housing and care needs of older people.
This particular questionnaire aims to learn more about if and how families and their older relatives discuss and plan ahead for later life and the extent to which knowledge and decisions are shared between the generations. We hope in this way to better inform the services we offer to older people, to their families and to their carers.
EAC provides free, independent and impartial information and advice to help older people live safely and well at home. We have been doing so since 1985. Last year over 4 million people visited our website www.housingcare.org and around 20,000 callers used our national telephone advice service. (see below).
Please note that we do not require your name or address but we do ask that you insert your post code and your county in Question B in the Introduction. This helps us to better establish local patterns in answers. We do not focus on individual replies or specific circumstances nor do we publish any information that is attributable to any individual or to their family.
We ask that wherever possible you work through the questionnaire and discuss your answers jointly with your parents or older relatives. This will actively encourage discussion, better inform the results and help shape our services.
The survey is split over five pages (an introduction and four 'sections'), which should take approximately 15 minutes in total to complete
