What is NCS? The NCS programme has, to date, provided a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to nearly 500,000 young people (aged 15 to 17 years old) and delivered over 10 million hours of community action across England.
The programme consists of four weekly phases sequenced into Adventure, Discovery, Action and Extension which functions as a ‘rite of passage’ for young people to create a more responsible, cohesive and engaged society. The NCS programme is managed by the NCS Trust who are commissioning the delivery of the programme for 2020 and beyond, which will: - reach more young people - deliver more positive social impact - provide value for money by driving innovation, and - expand the network of local partners.
