A New School for Northampton Questionnaire
(Royal & Derngate, Northampton)

We are developing the concept for a new secondary school for Northampton, which places cultural and creative learning at the heart of its broad and balanced curriculum. We expect the mainstream, non-selective, town centre, comprehensive school and Sixth Form College for 11-18 year olds to open in September 2019 at the earliest.

Sharing the values of Royal & Derngate and our partner, digital agency Balance, the new school will encourage Creativity, Ambition, Collaboration and Inclusion amongst our learners and the professional teaching and wider staff team.

We are confident that the new school meets local demand and enhances the education offer in our County. Working with business and education partners, we aim to deliver academic excellence and meet our learners’ ambitions. We will equip young people with the tools, confidence and experience that will prepare them for a healthy career and a happy life in the fast moving 21st century digital economy. We will create an inclusive learning environment, believing that all students, regardless of the challenges they may face, have the right to an outstanding education.
