Employer Survey – A key worker solution for Mull and Iona

Mull and Iona Community Trust are a community based organisation operating in Mull and Iona.  We are a thriving and sustainable social enterprise supporting local people and organisations to design solutions that make the island better to live work, play and visit. MICT values inclusion and collaboration and would welcome the input of businesses and organisations in the area. 

Key worker accommodation has been a well-documented long term issue for our island community.  It has two separate perspectives;
1. Temporary housing for incoming permanent employees to provide a stepping stone for them finding a home to rent or buy or land on which to build, and
2. Living accommodation for incoming seasonal workers (either for hospitality and tourism, or trades people). 

Though we know there is a need, we want to understand the scale and nature of that need and demand, and therefore what to do about addressing it so that the island can grow and flourish.

This survey invites you as someone who runs a business, organisation or institution in the private, public or third sector.
We want to hear your experience and your views on the potential solutions. The survey can be accessed on-line at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/MICT_Key_Housng Paper copies can be picked up and dropped off at An Roth in Craignure.

MICT commissioned Community Enterprise and Communities Housing Trust to undertake more detailed research and deliver a feasibility study with options for a way forward.  This survey will help us get to a detailed plan for the what we need to do and what a partnership could look like.  Please take the time to complete this important survey and make sure that your voice is heard.
