South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership has drafted a new Strategy and Implementation Plan to support adults in South Ayrshire with mental health difficulties. (The Partnership comprises South Ayrshire Council Social Work Services and NHS Ayrshire and Arran Community and Primary Care Health Services. Third Sector and Independent Sector organisations are also represented in the Partnership.)

The Strategy has been developed with support and assistance from Health Improvement Scotland and covers the period 2017-22. The content of the draft document has been informed following earlier engagement with service users, families and carers and with professionals, managers, the South Ayrshire Mental Health Strategic Planning group and staff from organisations from across the sectors currently engaged in supporting people with mental health issues in the community.

The Health and Social Care Partnership is now seeking views on its draft strategy document and has prepared a survey for this purpose. If you wish to take part, please complete this survey and submit it on-line by close of business on Sunday 30 April 2017. The comments received through this engagement exercise will assist the Partnership to further refine the document before it is submitted to the Integration Joint Board in June, 2017 for final approval.

The Health and Social Care Partnership has agreed local outcomes which will govern its approach to Adult Community Mental Health Services and an Implementation Plan to deliver against these outcomes. We are keen to obtain your views on whether or not you think our Implementation Plan will deliver on this aspiration.

We have targeted 7 main strategic outcomes:

1. Flexible, Tailored Provision and Coordinated Approaches
2. Prevention
3. Recovery
4. Addressing Social Stigma
5. Choice and Control
6. Safety
7. Carer's Needs and Aspirations
