Our plans to develop The Old Coach House in Hillsborough Park

Read more about our plans here

Age UK Sheffield has been successful in a Stage 1 bid to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, to redevelop The Old Coach House to become an older people’s centre and community café.

We are intending to submit a planning application to Sheffield City Council in May 2019 and are now seeking your views to inform this planning application. Things you need to know:

·         The café will be open to any member of the public

·         The toilets will be available to the public. It is also proposed that we manage the nearby Bowling Pavilion to help ensure those toilets are open to the public

·         We are undertaking all necessary environmental and ecological surveys

·         We plan to deliver a mixed programme of free information and advice; heritage, history, nature, and physical activities; and community bookings

·         We also plan to take commercial bookings such as conferences, events, and weddings

·         We plan to apply for a licence to serve alcohol

·         Sheffield City Council have agreed, in principle, to grant us a long-term lease to run this building, subject to legal and Charitable Trust agreement

·         As part of this agreement, we have agreed to restrict vehicle access to the park to deliveries and dropping-off only, plus two disabled parking bays

Please give us your feedback on these proposals by Friday 26th April, by completing the form overleaf. You can find out more details by visiting www.ageuk.org.uk/sheffield, or by attending one of the following public consultation drop-in events:

Wed 24th April, 5.00-7.00pm, Hillsborough Trinity Methodist Church, Middlewood Road

Sat 27th April, 9.30-11.00am, Hillsborough Park Bowling Pavilion
