Consultation on clear panelled masks

Since the UK Government mandated that face coverings should be worn on public transport from 15 June and rumours that they may also be mandated in other indoor settings, there have been concerns that these will provide further barriers to people who lip-reading. National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) are therefore seeking to ensure clear-panelled face masks are mandatorily worn. To view examples, of these masks, visit Clear Mask and Breathe Easy.

Business Disability Forum is asking our Members and Partners for their views on if they would be prepared to mandate that clear-panelled masks are worn by staff in the workplace and when providing services to customers.
