Louth Volunteering Strategy 2019-2023 - Survey for Volunteers
Survey for Volunteers
Louth Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP) 2016-2022 has identified a need for a Volunteer Strategy for the County to “help volunteer organisations to develop their skills to enable them to engage people and leverage existing networks for greater engagement.”
Louth Volunteer Centre is leading on the development of this new County Louth Volunteering Strategy. Blu Zebra is developing the strategy on behalf of Louth Volunteer Centre. As part of this process, two surveys are being undertaken - one for volunteers and one for organisations where volunteers play an important role. Louth Volunteer Centre is also managing the 2019 Fleadh Volunteer Programme and hopes that these volunteers will take part in the survey.
For the purposes of this survey the draft Department of Rural and Community Development definition of volunteering has been used. It defines volunteering as “the commitment of time and energy, for the benefit of society, local communities, and individuals outside the immediate family, the environment or other causes. Voluntary activities are undertaken of a person’s own free will, without payment (except for reimbursement of out - of- pocket expenses)” .
