Unfortunately the Plymouth Linnean Lecture planned for Wed 14th March is going to have to be postponed owing to issues outside of our hands. Professor Seddon's home institution is participating in industrial action next week regarding the recent Universities Superannuation Scheme pension issues, which has been in the national press, and are of great concern at a number of universities. As such, she is obviously completely unable to carry out any work-related duties whilst participating in industrial action and thus is unable to come and give the Plymouth Linnean Lecture next week and we have unfortunately had to postpone it. Professor Seddon is very sorry to have to cancel as we have a large number of registrants and she is very enthusiastic about rescheduling it in the coming months and hopefully we will be able to do that on a date that works for as many of you as possible. Once we have a date organised, we will invite those who registered for this event first to give you priority in registering for the rescheduled version. We apologise for the inconvenience and both I and Professor Seddon are very sad to have to do this, but, please rest assured that we will be doing out utmost to reschedule it as soon as possible. Yours, Dr Rich Boden, FLS
