Thank you for your interest in the Lancashire breastfeeding-friendly scheme.
What is the scheme and why do we need it?
Families and Babies are a charity commissioned by LCC (Lancashire County Council) to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding by providing a peer support service to new families.
In partnership with LCC, we have created the breastfeeding friendly scheme with the goal to normalise breastfeeding over Lancashire as sadly many mothers stop breastfeeding before they planned to, or don’t get out and about as much as they would like to because they feel daunted about breastfeeding in public. To achieve this goal, we would like to invite you and your business/venue to become breastfeeding friendly and be included in our scheme.
To be part of the scheme all that we ask is that you display the FREE sticker/poster clearly in the window and policy in the staff area, along with a friendly and accepting attitude being upheld by staff. We will also send you further information on ways you and your staff can support breastfeeding mums and we can provide breastfeeding awareness sessions or online training to meet the needs of your staff if required.
