As Manchester BID continues to plan activities into 2022 and beyond to further support businesses during the Covid-19 recovery, your thoughts and opinions are appreciated to ensure the ‘toolkit’ we offer has the right mix. * 2. City Centre retailers and restaurants developed the 2018-2023 BID Business Plan. There are currently 5 key focuses that the team is delivering is delivering on your behalf. 
How important is each to your business on a scale of 1-5

Launching or partnering with major public events in the city centre to attract footfall outside of the Christmas peak e.g. Halloween
Delivering promotional campaigns and partnerships to generate positive PR about the city; attracting more affluent customers.
Delivering a City Host service. These ambassadors patrol the shopping area to help visitors; maintain standards by reporting cleaning/operational issues; and provide information updates for businesses. 
Improving the city centre experience by offering operational support such as additional cleaning and security liaison.
Supporting the BID community with key information and talking to each other.

* 3. We have increased the number of BID key events and partnership activity, aiming to drive additional footfall and repeat visits, especially during quieter 'dip periods'. 
(Manchester City Council deliver the Christmas programme and the markets).

Question Title

* 4. The BID works with a PR agency and has extensive promotional partnerships across the city. This gives the BID's events and campaign significant 'free' and wide-reaching coverage worth millions of pounds, all encouraging future visits.

The BID funds a strategic partnership with Visit Manchester to help promote events and campaigns online across the UK and internationally.
Amplifying BID promotions by working in partnership with the City Council, Metrolink/TfGM and other bodies.
Helping publicise the launch of the Christmas Markets and Festive Season in early November 2022 (e.g. the BID will feature themed street performances on the opening weekend as trialled in 2021).

* 5. The BID's team of City Hosts, dressed in recognisable uniforms, patrol the shopping area. The BID is also now trialing an increasing level of operational support to businesses, recognising further challenges to council funded services such as street cleaning.

City Hosts work 363 days a year, giving detailed help and a warm welcome to UK and international visitors. Some hosts are multi-lingual
The City Hosts regularly make visits into BID stores to share the latest news on BID events, transport and city updates.
City Hosts now focus on daily reporting of issues to the new BID funded cleaning team (launched October 2021) which can respond more quickly with additional street washing and litter picking.
