Welcome to the living with and beyond cancer training needs assessment for primary care nurses

A  survey to investigate follow-up care for people living with and beyond cancer.

As cancer treatments improve, the number of people living with and beyond cancer is increasing. Late onset and long-term side effects of cancer and its treatment have been defined as ‘consequences of treatment’. They can be functional, physical or psychological problems and can occur months or years after completion of treatment. As many as 500,000 cancer survivors in the UK are considered to be experiencing consequences attributable to cancer treatment (Macmillan Cancer Support, 2013).

You are invited to take part in a survey that aims to examine the attitudes and experiences of primary care nurses about follow-up care for people living with and beyond cancer and people who have completed active treatment for any cancer. We would like to identify your learning needs in context to the service you currently provide and would like to provide in the future.

The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Your participation will help to identify primary care nurses needs for support and education relating to the provision of care for people living with and beyond cancers.

Completion of the survey may also be useful for individuals to identify knowledge gaps as part of their CPD planning and or reflective practice as part of NMC re-validation.

The information you provide will be handled in a manner that ensures confidentiality. No identifying information will be released in any publications resulting from the study. Participation in this survey is voluntary.

Thank you very much for your involvement.
