About the ESU Schools' Mace

The Schools’ Mace is the oldest and largest debating competition for schools in England. It offers students in Key Stage 3 and onwards the opportunity to discuss and debate controversial topics and current affairs. In the process of the competition, students develop their knowledge of the world, as well as their reasoning and presentation skills, in a fun and competitive environment.

Schools' Mace judges will be required from 4pm onwards within the following dates: 
Round 1- 04/11- 29/11/19
Round 2- 13/01-31/01/20
Regional Finals- 24/02-03/03/20
Grand final: 23/03/20

Please only apply if you will be available to carry out the role at least for Round 1 and Round 2, and from the time indicated.
