* 7. Which of the following local Lib Dem policies do you support?

There's a huge backlog of school repairs but the Council hasn't put a penny of local funding towards school repairs this year. Lib Dem councillors proposed a £10million urgent fund for critical repairs like leaking roofs and draughty windows, but Labour councillors rejected this. Do you support our policy?

We have 3500km public rights of way across the County and 50 nature reserves, but the council funds work for less than 10% of them. We proposed a doubling of investment over three years using less than 1% of council reserves at the budget. Do you support our policy? Labour councillors voted against it.

We believe Durham County Council should aim to be carbon neutral by 2030 at the latest. Labour councillors rejected this and set a target of 2050. We believe this is way too late and a missed opportunity. Do you support our "no later than 2030" target?

We expect new planning applications, especially for council owned buildings to be carbon neutral and have renewable energy installed as standard. Do you support this?

We want to see the Belmont Viaduct reopened as a bridle, cycle and footpath link. Previously £500,000 was secured but the scheme was stopped by the Council over land issues. We are pushing for renewed action. Would you back this and use the new route?

We do not feel that the Council's near £2 million communications budget is being well spent and believe should be reduced. Do you agree?
