Gender Equal Play in practice: Call for case studies: How have Gender Equal Play practice resource supported gender equal practice in your setting?
Background In 2018 the Care Inspectorate and Zero Tolerance co-produced a Gender Equal Play practice resource promoting gender equality in early learning and childcare (ELC). This resource aims to support good practice surrounding gender equal play/activities, interaction and environments and contribute to better outcomes for children in ELC settings in respect of gender equality and tackling stereotypes. The main target audience is childcare practitioners, although the resource is relevant to all professionals and organisations across the ELC sector.
Purpose of this project Zero Tolerance & the Care Inspectorate are looking to build evidence of the work being done by early years practitioners around Scotland to support gender equality in early learning and childcare. We are gathering this information with the following aims:
To raise awareness of this work across the early learning and childcare sector
To better understand how and where this work is happening
To understand the benefits of this work
To demonstrate the impact early years practitioners are making in respect of gender equality and tackling gender stereotypes
To encourage further support for gender equal practice in the future
This call for case studies relates to work being done in all early year's settings and it is being undertaken by Zero Tolerance. We would like to ask for more information about how you embedded the Gender Equal play guidance in your practice and for your consent to use all of this in public settings (on-and offline).
Where we will share this information Collectively these case studies will be used
To create a booklet with best practice examples which will be shared with organisations working in the early years,
On Zero Tolerance’s website and partners' websites and social media
For on and offline events
