(formerly "Employment Law and Immigration with Migrants at Work")

What is "Labour Migration Law"?

Labour Migration Law focuses on the intersection between immigration law and employment law.  It looks at the tensions that exist between them and how they can lead to discrimination against migrants and others.

This course will cover
  • Who has a 'right to work' in the UK
  • Common problems in establishing a right to work
  • The basic employment rights that all employees and workers should have
  • The laws that punish employers and employees in cases of 'illegal working' and how they can lead to discrimination against migrants
  • How to prove a 'right to work'
  • Remedies for some of the more common problems
  • Boundaries and referral
This course is aimed at Level 1 and Level 2 caseworkers in the Immigration category.

This course is delivered by Migrants at Work.
