Understanding the impact of COVID-19 |
After our survey in May 2020 whilst in the middle of lockdown restrictions we were able to gather valuable evidence of how people with cerebral palsy, their families and carers were being affected by the COVID-19 restrictions. It was incredibly important for Cerebral Palsy Scotland and enabled us to ensure that our information and services during lockdown helped people in ways that they needed. We were also able to share the information to inform government and policy makers what life was like for our population. Now that restrictions are beginning to lift, shielding has been paused and the schools are going back, we would like to hear how people with CP are now so that we can record, compare and understand how things have changed.
By completing this short survey, you will help us build up a picture of the impact of the restrictions on the lives of people with CP. We plan to use this information to first check the services and supports we provide remain appropriate. Secondly, we also want to think about whether we need to develop new and different services to address new challenges that may have arisen as a result of the restrictions during the last few months.
The picture we build up through this survey will also mean we can tell key agencies like the Scottish Government or NHS about the issues faced by the CP community. We will also be able to tell organisations that fund us about the additional pressures people are facing so that we can secure the resources we need to help people with CP and their families.
It will remain open until midnight on 1st September, but the more information we receive and the sooner we receive it, the more able we will be to deliver effective support to everyone that needs it.
