1. Register to express interest

Glenarm/Carnlough and Whitehead/Islandmagee have been selected to take part in a new pilot ‘Rural Tourism Collaborative Experiences Programme,’ funded by Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) and Mid and East Antrim Borough Council.

The aim of the programme is to support rural businesses to collaborate and work together to increase competitiveness and add value to their local visitor economy, in a way which respects their landscape, traditions and way of life.

Key objectives include:
· identifying the distinctiveness of each area;
· showcasing the unique sense of place and local creativity, heritage and culture;
· helping visitors access or learn more about our stunning coast line; and
· packaging a range of authentic local products that can be promoted as a combined experience.

The programme is open to existing tourism and hospitality businesses, and local groups/individuals who have a particular skill or currently run local workshops/classes within these areas, that could be of interest to a visitor. You may also have spotted a business opportunity that you have not as yet explored but would like to take further.

If you think you can contribute to the local visitor economy, then we want to hear from you. The programme will provide expert facilitation from Sharon Scott, of NI based tourism and regeneration consultancy, Place Solutions, to develop your tourism experience/idea, assess commercial viability and identify support to bring it to market. The funding also provides marketing collateral (including digital provision) for each destination hub and their market ready experiences. This will form part of Mid and East Antrim and Tourism NI's future local and international destination marketing campaigns.

If you would like to find out more and become involved in this project, please complete the attached Expression of Interest and tick the GDPR box allowing us to share your details with the Facilitator, who will get in touch with you directly.
