Introduction

The Ubele Initiative (Ubele) has been grant funded by Youth Futures Foundation (YFF) to conduct a national baseline analysis of the needs, future training and employment opportunities within the manual trades sector with a focus on young people aged 16 to 24 year olds.

The purpose of the research is to better understand young people's thoughts around the manual trades, their participation on programmes focused on the construction industry and manual trades and any barriers or perceptions of the industry. The research will also be looking at what routes exist to enter the manual trade industry, amongst other areas of concerns.

Your participation will help us to build a more accurate picture of the sector with particular reference to aspiration, training and employment opportunities. We hope also that the result might help to inform training providers, career guidance specialists, policy and decision makers, on how they respond to the needs of young people looking to access manual trade industry.

We will be sharing the findings with our funder and more widely as a published report on the Ubele website. However, no personal detail or markers that would indicate who you are will be shared.

All data collected will be handled and stored in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018). The Ubele Initiative will only use the information provided for the purposes of analysis and reporting on the project, and in future research.

The survey will be ongoing and should take less than 7minutes to complete.
