We are seeking feedback on the name of the certification scheme that we have been developing since 2015 and which is due to launch in December 2017. The project has been referred to as the ‘Best Practice Scheme’ up until now. You can read more about the scheme, which will provide an independent audit and certification process for AD plants, here. ADBA’s ongoing work in this area will be called our ‘Best Practice Programme’ and this will encompass the certification scheme, along with any training we develop, guidance and resources we publish and other initiatives to highlight and recognise leadership in our sector. This will allow a wider set of industry players to get involved in this work, allowing us to broaden its reach. We hope that this will be a positive step which will work towards our aims of improving environmental, health and safety, and operational performance.

We are currently considering what to call the certification scheme that we are opening in December and we would like your help in choosing this name – we have several options and are running a short survey so that you can let us know which options you prefer. We’ll then take these views into account.

We want to make sure we choose a name which is clear and reflects the scope of the scheme and does not cause any confusion or clashes with existing initiatives or schemes that are relevant to our industry. Your thoughts will be invaluable in helping us to achieve this and we look forward to receiving your feedback.

Please email Jess Allan at jessica.allan@adbioresources.org if you would like to provide further points or have any other questions about the scheme.
