Elements Forest School |
stakeholder consultation - forest school development
We are setting up a Forest School educational activity which will initially be offered as an after school activity within selected schools. The Forest school concept is based on a Scandinavian idea that considers children's contact with nature to be extremely important from an early age. Educationalists have witnessed the positive impact that it can have on children.
The benefits of Forest Schools for children and society are well documented. They include
Increased confidence and independence of the child.
Development of their language skills by providing a real context for language.
Ability to take risks and to become more open to new experiences.
Forest school activities complement learning in the classroom and the benefits can be transferred.
