Limpsfield Community Playground Survey

Following the adoption of the Limpsfield Neighbourhood Plan, one of the projects the Parish Council has been looking into is the creation of a playground on the north side of the A25/Village area. Several sites have been considered (including Glebe Meadow and Stanhopes), but discounted for reasons including land leasing, inadequate parking, lack of refreshment facilities etc.

We think that the best site would be on the safely enclosed, grassed kids play area (formerly a bowling green) to the side of the Royal British Legion Club at Grub Street, by the Oxted & Limpsfield Cricket Club pitch and Limpsfield Infant School.  With a wheelchair / pram accessible enclosed area, lots of parking, proximity to the school, accessibility on foot - both by pavement and through the woods - and availability of tea, coffee, snacks and treats from the Legion’s bar, it presents a viable location for a community playground for children 3 to 11 years.

Working with representatives from the Legion, Limpsfield Infant school and parents’ association, Panda Nursery and St Peter’s Church we have come up with possible play equipment to suit the location and limited budget. The project will be largely funded by grants.

This would include: a Tower, 2 x Platforms, Climbing Wall, Balance Beam, Vertical Scramble Net, Trapeze Rings, V-bridge, Fireman’s Pole, Pull up ramp, Ladder Wall and Slide, plus some “springies” for smaller children and an accessible “nest swing” to suit all ages and abilities.

To help us decide whether/how we might take this forward, we would be very grateful if you could answer a few short questions on the following page. Just  tick your answer/s as appropriate... (click next for questions)
