We are looking for committed, talented young people between the ages of 16 and 19 to be part of the BFI Film Academy 2017/18 Network Programme delivered by White Lantern Film.
As a BFI Film Academy student you will get a real experience of film production through a course which is centred around feature film production. The course will use actual productions as a background to learning, enabling you to gain valuable knowledge and experience both in theoretical and practical terms. You will also get opportunities to speak and interact with film industry professionals and learn from a range of guest speakers from the film industry.
Course Dates: 19th November 2017 and runs until 4th February 2018. Please make sure you can attend all the course dates before applying. The course will be held on these dates:
19th, 26th November 2017
3rd, 10th December 2017
7th, 14th, 17th, 20th, 21st, 28th, 31st January 2018
4th February 2018
The course runs on Sundays from 10am – 4pm with optional pre-production support on Wednesdays between 4pm – 7pm as scheduled. The course features a short film production which typically films at a weekend, times do vary dependant upon the production schedule, typically the days are long and run between 8am and 8pm.

Accreditation: You will work towards gaining an NCFE ‘Preparing to Work in the Film Industry’ qualification.
Costs: The cost to participate in the BFI Film Academy delivered by White Lantern Film Production is £25. But if you will struggle to pay the course fees, don't be discouraged from applying, come talk to us as the fee may be waived. Bursaries will also be made available for participants if you require assistance with travel, child care or other costs.
Eligibility: You need to be between the ages of 16 and 19 on the first day of the Academy programme and not attending University. You must be a UK resident and able to commit to the programme for its duration.
