Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard is partnering with Macmillan Cancer Support to learn about the experiences and needs of LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer) people living, working or studying in Brighton & Hove and Sussex who are affected by cancer.

This includes partners, families and friends of people living with cancer, and those bereaved by cancer.

This engagement work will be used to inform how LGBTQ people affected by cancer can be best supported, and identify areas where improvements to patient experience can be made through Macmillan and in collaboration.

We are aware that some of the questions may touch upon sensitive issues. If you become upset, please take some time out and, if you are willing, return to the questionnaire at a later time. The advantages of taking part are that your responses will help guide interventions to improve the wellbeing of individuals in similar circumstances in the future.

All of your responses to this survey are anonymous and confidential. We estimate it'll take you between 10 and 15 minutes to complete.
If you would like any further information or support about cancer, please visit the Macmillan Cancer Support website. Alternatively, call the Macmillan Support Line on 0808 808 0000. You can also visit the Macmillan Horizon Centre or call the centre on 01273 468770

As a thank you we’re also offering a £20 shopping voucher to one person who fills out the survey – this will be a randomly selected prize draw. If you wish to enter please leave your email address at the end so we are able to contact you. This will not affect your anonymity.
If you are also a healthcare professional working with LGBTQ people affected by cancer, please consider also taking our survey for professionals:

Many thanks for taking the time to help us by sharing your experiences,
