The Prime Minister has announced plans to consult on changing the legislative system in England to one of ‘opt out’ for organ donation. The Intensive Care Society will be providing a formal response to the consultation and would welcome your views on:

1. The potential impact that a change in legislation might have
     a. on your own roles
     b. on consent rate for organ donation
     c. on Black and Asian communities
     d. Donation after circulatory death
     e. Ante-mortem interventions
     f. Your personal views

2. The role of the family in the donation process

3. Exclusions that should be applied for the legislation

4. The role of the Government, professional bodies and NHS Blood and Transplant in implementation

Your responses will be anonymous and will be used to inform the Intensive Care Society’s response to the Government consultation process.

We would also strongly encourage you to respond directly to the Government’s online consultation when it is launched.
Thank you
