WELCOME TO THE HURSLEY PARISH QUESTIONNAIRE
Your Parish Plan Rep is (Name & Tel) :

This questionnaire is designed so that you can have your say on a whole range of important issues that impact on your quality of life as a resident of the Parish. Once we know what everyone thinks, we will draw that information together to produce a Parish Plan.

A Parish Plan is a document designed to influence the authorities such as Hampshire County Council and Winchester City Council, who have the power and the funds to make both positive and negative changes to our environment. A Parish Plan also acts as a mandate and agenda for the Parish Council to ensure that they are working to achieve the things that residents consider important. A Parish Plan can cover a wide range of issues such as local amenities, traffic and parking.  It may eventually feed into a Neighbourhood Plan which only deals with building development.

The Parish Plan initiative is being taken forward by a group of individuals who are concerned about the future of the village and the wider Parish.  It is not from the Parish Council but it is being carried out with their support.

It is important that you complete the questionnaire because a good response rate, demonstrating high levels of support for particular views or initiatives, will be persuasive and will make it more likely that desired outcomes are achieved.  It will help us, as a community, to preserve what we like about Hursley and change the things that we don't like.

Prior to the launch of the Parish Plan, a brief survey was carried out via an on-line questionnaire to discover the themes that people were concerned about.  There were 150 responses from which it was clear that the main issues are traffic, parking, amenities, the built environment and community organisations.  These issues were further explored at the Parish Plan launch event on Saturday 26 March.  The comments and responses given by those attending the event and completing the on-line survey, were compiled in a 'Parish Plan Update' and used to shape this questionnaire.  A copy of the update was delivered to every property in the Parish during the second half of April.  If by any chance you did not receive one, copies are available from the Post Office.
