This year, Scottish Provincial Press, publisher of The Inverness Courier, Strathspey & Badenoch Herald, Ross-shire Journal, The Northern Times and John O'Groat Journal, launched its first Highland Heroes Awards.

Highland Heroes is an award scheme recognising the people in the Highlands who make a real difference to our communities, healthcare, education, safety and wellbeing.

You nominated your Highland Heroes and our judging panel has now created a shortlist of finalists. These finalists are detailed below under each nomination category. We would now like you to vote for your winner. You can vote for nominee's in as many categories as you would like however only one vote can be made per person.

After the voting deadline on Monday 30th October, all online votes will be added to postal votes and the winners will be announced at a ceremony in the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness, on Thursday, November 9. All those who have been shortlisted will be invited to attend the awards ceremony.
