Welcome and thank you for taking the time to complete this consultation

Have your say on Daventry District Council's Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2020 by taking part in this short consultation survey.

All local authorities have to produce a homelessness strategy based on a homelessness review at least every five years. In August (2019), the Government published a new national Rough Sleeping Strategy. It requires all local authorities in England to update their homelessness strategies and rebadge them as homelessness and rough sleeping strategies by the end of 2019.

Daventry District Council’s Homelessness Strategy, as contained within the Strategic Housing Plan 2014-2019 is due for an update, however in May 2019 Government announced that Daventry District will become part of a wider West Northamptonshire unitary area and therefore a unitary authority will be created to cover the larger area of Daventry District, South Northants and Northampton Borough. With this in mind, along with the other legal and government requirements, DDC propose to provide an interim strategy until the vesting day of a West Northamptonshire unitary authority.

The Strategy will provide how Daventry District Council will work towards preventing homelessness including rough sleeping, and support those that are facing homelessness or who could be at risk of becoming homeless. The strategy is crucial to ensure that our services assist the most vulnerable.

If you haven't done so already, please read the proposed Daventry District Council's Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2020 (available on DDC's Housing strategy page) before completing this consultation.
