Welcome to BIHR's Survey

Thank you for participating in our survey. Your views are important to us.

This survey gives you some information and asks for your views about the UK Government’s proposals to reform our Human Rights Act and create a new UK Bill of Rights.

BIHR is an independent charity; we are not working on behalf of the UK Government. We will use your answers in our response to the Government’s consultation which closes on the 8th of March 2022. We will also use your views in our campaigning on human rights which will continue beyond the consultation deadline. For example, if the Government introduces a new law to Parliament to change our protections, we will share information from this survey in Parliament.

Everything you say here is anonymous and cannot be tracked back to any individual.

There are 20 questions. You have the opportunity to tell us more, please do this if you feel able, but you can also simply answer yes, no or not sure to any question. You can also skip a question.

Note that when we say Government, we mean the UK Government at Westminster. When we say the state, we mean public bodies and public officials, like the national and local government as well as public bodies like the NHS, local councils, etc.

If you would like more information about the UK Government’s consultation, including our resources to support people to respond directly to the consultation please visit our Human Rights Act reform hub here.
