Local NHS spending survey

Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is a local NHS organisation, led by GPs, which plans and pays for health care services on behalf of the population of west Hertfordshire.
Budgets are limited, demand on the NHS is increasing and expensive new drugs and treatments are being developed all the time.
We cannot afford to pay for everything and some difficult choices have to be made about what the CCG can afford to spend.
It is really important that our decisions are influenced by your views. We want to hear your opinions on how difficult decisions should be made and listen to your suggestions about ways in which we can make savings.
Please take part by completing the survey below.  Your responses (but not names) will be shared with our Board and made available for others to see on our website.  When the survey closes, we will use the responses to help develop the guidelines we will follow when deciding which services or treatments the local NHS should pay for in future.
If you need any help with this survey, have any questions or want to receive it in a different format or language, please either email enquiries.hvccg@nhs.net or ring 01442 284000
Thank you

How important is it to you that the services and treatments provided by the NHS:

* 1. Are scientifically proven to be effective?

* 2. Make the best use of resources available to the local NHS?

* 3. Delivery lasting health benefits and improve patients' quality of life?

* 4. Prevent the need for further costly treatments and services in future?

* 5. Help our disadvantaged residents and communities and those in poor health to improve their health and wellbeing?

* 6. Support people to take responsibility for their own health and wellbeing?

* 7. Prioritise significant health needs (like cancer and heart disease) above less serious conditions and treatments (like colds and dry skin)?

* 8. Please rank these considerations in order with 1 being the most important and 7 the least important

* 9. Are there any other considerations that the local NHS  should take into account when deciding whether or not to pay for a service or treatment?

* 10. Do you have any ideas or suggestions about savings the local NHS should make?

* 11. If you would like to receive an update on the results of this survey and information on local health services, please enter your email address below.
