About this research

The aim of this research is to understand issues around recruitment, retention, and training of the Public Health Workforce. Questions are about your workplace and your experiences. Answers will be used to inform RSPH research on the matter.

You are invited to take part in an online survey which will take about 10 minutes to complete.

About RSPH

Established in 1856, the Royal Society for Public Health is a charity dedicated to the promotion and protection of people’s health and wellbeing.

Our research team are Fernanda Aguilar Perez (Policy Executive) and Burcu Borysik (Head of Policy).

Recording and storing data

·         All data will be anonymised.

·         We will never use your personal details in any public reports or documents associated with this project. 

Your rights in the research process

·         Taking part in this survey is entirely voluntary.

·         You can leave the survey at any time if you want to for any reason

·         You can skip any questions you wish not to answer.

·         You can write to a member of RSPH staff if you feel uncomfortable or have any questions.

·         However, you cannot withdraw or amend the data you have already provided as we have no means of identifying your individual file, as all the information is collected anonymously.

Confidentiality 

All the information you provide will be confidential.

The only time we will break confidentiality is if we are seriously concerned for your or other people’s safety. If we feel that this is necessary, our Safeguarding Lead Kiran Kenth will be informed. The lead will then decide if any further action is required (e.g. contacting relevant services) in order to ensure the safety of yourself and other people.

What happens next

We will use information collected to write a report which will be submitted to the Health and Care Committee’s inquiry into ‘Workforce: recruitment, training and retention in health and social care’. A copy of this report will be available on our website in February. The survey information will be destroyed in six months after publication.
