How often, recently, have you heard friends and neighbours say they are amazed by the improvement in our air quality in Eynsham - how bright the sky is and how nature is thriving whilst we are locked down? People are also saying they are enjoying being able to hear birds singing and that they are walking and cycling more. Is it possible that we could keep up our new behaviours and/or change our old ones after the lockdown is over?
GreenTEA has been looking for over a decade at ways we can reduce our fossil fuel consumption as a community; for example, by cycling more or using car-sharing schemes. Now, we think the time is right to find out with a short questionnaire what transport behaviours people would be prepared to adopt to reduce the risk of respiratory diseases caused by the particulates from petrol and diesel, at the same time reducing carbon emissions. If we are, as a community, ready to act, then what help would we need and what infrastructure changes are required? With your input to this survey, we can put a case to our local councils in relation to their Climate Change policies.
