Grange Big Local is a community group which was awarded £1million of National Lottery funding to improve our small area of East Finchley. Our pocket is the block inside the North Circular, East End Road, Church Lane and the High Road

We are local volunteers who want to make our area a thriving and caring place. We want an area where residents can flourish, our environment can blossom and our economy can grow

Some of our successes since our launch in 2016 include:
  • Creating a new green space for the community - Barnwood on Tarling Road is now run by a resident group that has recently become its own charity
  • Funding activities for children and young people with Art Against Knives, Hope North London, Barnet Bulldogs and Wild About Our Woods forest school.
  • Funding local Citizens Advice Barnet sessions
  • Supporting exercise classes and a music group with Age UK Barnet
  • Launching a community chest that gives grants to local residents and community groups to set up their projects - so far, we have given grants to 4 community groups and 3 residents.
We have also been working on other projects to improve the area,  including the underpass and local playground facilities. Some of this has been more complicated than we thought and take more time than we had hoped but we are committed to doing our best to deliver on what the community want.

We need your help to write our next plan, by answering these questions, talking to or emailing us, and we would also be grateful for any time you can give to make these ideas happen. The more volunteers we have, the more we can do.

The survey should take around 15 minutes to complete. To thank you for helping us with this, you can enter a prize draw at the end of this survey. First prize is a voucher for £50 for a meal at La Rugoletta and the second prize is a voucher for £25 for a takeaway of your choice. Be sure to leave us your contact details if you want to enter the prize draw!

The survey will close Friday 29th November 2019.
