Including Glossop in the new Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care System from April 2022
Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) are designed to help healthcare (usually provided by the NHS) and social care (usually provided by your local authority or local council) work more closely together so that you receive the best care we can jointly provide.
At the moment, healthcare for people in Glossop is provided by the NHS in Tameside and Glossop and social care is provided by our local authorities in Derbyshire. In the summer, the government decided that Glossop healthcare services should not move into the Greater Manchester ICS but instead move to the Derby and Derbyshire ICS to enable that closer joint working. This change will happen in April 2022 and you may be wondering if it will affect you.
We do not propose to make any changes right now, or for the next 12 months from April 2022, but we know how important health and social care is to people. We want to make sure that you have regular opportunities to ask questions so the health and care organisations from Derbyshire and Tameside and Glossop are running the first of a number of listening events on 27 January 2022 from 2pm to 3.30pm. At these events, senior colleagues will be updating you with the latest developments, listening to what matters most to you and offering you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
To register your interest in attending please complete your details below and we will send you an email with a link a few days before the session. We would always prefer to hold face to face events but we must follow the Covid guidance so this first session will be virtual.
